West Lake

West Lake, also known as Qiantang Lake, is located at No. 1 Longjing Road, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. Situated in the western part of Hangzhou's urban area, it has a catchment area of 21.22 square kilometers and a lake surface area of 6.38 square kilometers, making it one of the three famous lakes in the Jiangnan region. The lake is surrounded by mountains on its south, west, and north sides, while the east side borders the urban area. To the south, it is separated from the Qiantang River by mountains. Within the lake, the Bai Causeway, Su Causeway, Yanggong Causeway, and Zhaogong Causeway divide the water surface into several sections, and there are three islands in the lake. The mountains around West Lake are centered on the lake itself and can be divided into four layers from near to far.
