Hangzhou Lingyin Temple: The Zen Monastery with the Most Spatial Aesthetics in Jiangnan

From Weituo to Ji Gong, from the Four Heavenly Kings to the Monkey King, every figure seems to narrate a tale of benevolence and protection. Lingyin Temple has historically attracted countless literati and scholars who came to compose poetry, explore, and study. Their works are abundant, with poetry, calligraphy, and paintings scattered throughout, making the temple a hub of elegance and cultural exchange. Even Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, during his southern tour, was so impressed by the temple's misty surroundings and lush forests that he personally inscribed the plaque "Cloud Forest Zen Temple," elevating the temple's cultural and political significance.
