Hangzhou: Heaven on Earth by West Lake

Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, is often praised as one of China’s most beautiful cities. With its rich history, natural beauty, and peaceful charm, it truly lives up to the old saying: “Above there is heaven, below there is Hangzhou.” My day began with a walk around the famous West Lake. The calm water, willow-lined paths, and distant mountains created a dreamlike landscape. I took a boat ride to see sights like the Broken Bridge and Three Pools Mirroring the Moon—each one full of poetry and legend. Next, I visited Lingyin Temple, one of China’s oldest and most important Buddhist temples. The scent of incense and the quiet chanting of monks made the place feel sacred and calm. Nearby, ancient stone carvings of Buddhas stood peacefully in the forest. In the afternoon, I enjoyed a cup of Longjing tea in a local teahouse in Meijiawu village. Surrounded by green tea fields, it was the perfect place to rest and enjoy Hangzhou’s slower rhythm of life. Hangzhou is a city where nature and culture live in harmony. Whether you’re exploring temples, sipping tea, or simply watching the sunset over the lake, it’s a place that leaves your heart full and your mind at peace.
