Even the Pingdu Traverse can be done with ease.

Pingyan Mountain is located in Heping Township, Taichung City, and is part of the Central Mountain Range. The Pingyan Mountain traverse, combined with Duojatun Mountain, is also known as the "Pingdu Traverse." While traverses are often long and exhausting, this route can be surprisingly relaxing, romantic, and luxurious. Starting from the trailhead at Qingye Farm Orchard, hikers step onto a soft carpet of pine needles. The trail is wide and easy to walk, with beautiful forest scenery. Although the initial section requires navigating through mixed woodlands, silvergrass, and arrow bamboo forests, the path becomes more open after passing through Wild Boar Pond and Pingyan Pond. Hikers then walk along a spacious firebreak trail, where the view gradually opens up, offering stunning vistas of Dabajianshan, Nanhu Mountain peaks, Zhongyangjian Mountain, and the Holy Ridge. This traverse route truly lives up to its reputation as the "Observation Deck of Taiwan's Hundred Peaks." The return journey passes through Songfeng Ridge and exits at Shengguang Trailhead, where a shuttle truck takes hikers back to their accommodations. Walking on the wide pine needle carpet with beautiful forest scenery, hikers can enjoy breathtaking views of Taiwan's Hundred Peaks on clear days, making up for the regret of not being able to climb them. Along the way, unknown wild mushrooms and small flowers add charm to the journey. The Pingdu Traverse, with its mountain views and serene atmosphere, is truly a soul-cleansing adventure.
