World Heritage-Motsuji Temple

#5月好去地方2025 Motsuji Temple is located in Nishiiwai County, Iwate Prefecture. It is as famous as Chusonji Temple. It is a Pure Land Garden Buddhist temple built by Fujiwara no Kiyohira's son, Motohira, during the Heian period. Although most of the main hall buildings no longer exist, the garden and the remains of the temple are intact, showing the Pure Land world that the Heian nobles yearn for. It is part of the "Hiraizumi-The Expression of Buddhist Pure Land" World Heritage. From JR "Hiraizumi Station", it takes about 7 to 10 minutes to walk to arrive. When I went there, I met a Taiwanese tour group and there were quite a lot of foreign tourists.
