Being severely controlled by this old five-star hotel - Experience of staying at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong [Love] Came to Hong Kong for a trip. This time I chose the old-fashioned Hong Kong Island Shangri-La. The experience was both pleasantly surprised and a little regretful. I would like to share it with you for reference~ Location and Transportation [Love] is located in Pacific Place in Admiralty. You can see it as soon as you exit Admiralty MTR Station. The advantage of being a transportation hub makes travel extremely convenient. Whether you are going to Causeway Bay for shopping or to Central for a check-in, it’s only a few subway stops away. Hotel Environment I was shocked as soon as I entered the lobby. The 16-story-high mural "Beautiful Rivers and Mountains" was so spectacular and full of artistic atmosphere. The public areas are spacious and elegant, with stylish decoration that combines oriental tradition with European elegance. Artworks can be seen everywhere, making it feel like visiting a small art exhibition. Room Facilities [Love] I stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious and had a comfortable bed, allowing me to have a good night's sleep. The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas, and there is a TV so you can watch TV while taking a bath. However, as an old hotel, although the facilities are complete, it inevitably shows some signs of age. Compared with new hotels, it lacks a sense of technology, but the overall maintenance is still good. Dining Experience This restaurant really packs a punch! The Cantonese cuisine at Summer Palace is super authentic, and the dim sum is exquisite and delicious; the buffet at café TOO must be praised, the seafood is fresh, and the variety of desserts is so dazzling. The afternoon tea in the lobby lounge is full of atmosphere. Once the three-layer tower is served, the sense of ceremony is full. It is very relaxing to chat with friends for an afternoon. Service Quality The service is really excellent. From check-in to check-out, the staff are enthusiastic and professional, and any needs can be met in a timely manner. It is also very friendly to families with children, providing children's toiletries and slippers, which is very thoughtful. Cost-effectiveness The price is not low, after all, it is a five-star hotel, but considering the location, service and supporting facilities, it is worth the money. If you can come across a promotion, the price/performance ratio will be even higher. [Love] Overall, the experience of staying at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong is very good. It is suitable for friends who have high requirements for hotel quality, convenient location and high-quality services. I will probably choose this place again when I come to Hong Kong next time.
