The mountain is steep and surrounded by the sea on three sides, with a sharp shape, like a fisherman fishing. Climbing the Fishing Hill requires a certain amount of physical strength and courage, and some sections require the use of both hands and feet, but when you successfully reach the top and enjoy the magnificent sea view of Clear Water Bay and Tseung Kwan O, all the hardships will be worth it. There are two main climbing routes to Diaoweng. The more traditional route starts from Wukuaitian. This route has a large slope and some sections have gravel, so you need to walk carefully. Another route is starting from Budai'ao, which is relatively flat but longer. Whichever route you choose, you'll enjoy stunning views of Hong Kong's eastern coastline, including the Kau Chau Islands and Kau Sai Chau. The view from the top of the mountain is excellent. You can enjoy a 360-degree view of the surrounding scenery, and the sea breeze is refreshing. However, due to the steep mountains and the lack of shade on some sections of the road, hiking in summer requires good sun protection and hydration measures. The challenge of Fishing Mang makes it a favorite of experienced hikers, and the sense of accomplishment brought by successfully reaching the summit is unparalleled.
