Using artworks to explore the issue of smuggled cultural relics

The Jockey Club Art Square in the Central Grand Pavilion updates its exhibitions from time to time, so there are surprises every time you go. From March 21 to June 8, 2025, Maeve Brennan: A Chronicle of Things will be on display, exploring stolen artifacts and the underground economy behind them. Her work discloses the illicit trade in artifacts, revealing stories and knowledge often overlooked in a vast history and complex system. As the artist’s first exhibition in Asia, Maeve Brennan: The Chronicle of Things brings together existing works and new creations, covering mobile imagery, paper, sculpture and print.
