Real experiences aboard the Spectrum of the Seas

Let’s talk about the entertainment facilities on the ship (if you want to fully enjoy yourself, make sure to bring sneakers and socks!). Since we boarded the ship later in the day, many activities we wanted to book were already full (the customer service mentioned that reservations could be made via the app, but for our trip, we had to wait until boarding to make bookings, which disrupted some of our plans). Photo 1 shows the North Star experience on the fourth day under sunny skies—it was truly breathtaking. The price is $45 per person, accommodating up to 10 people at a time. As this is a high-altitude activity at sea, those afraid of heights might want to try the glass walkway at the ship’s aft on the 15th floor first. If you can handle that, then proceed to the North Star. This activity is mainly for sightseeing, but it’s relatively pricey and short in duration. If your reserved time slot coincides with strong winds, the activity might be canceled. Surfing is free and unlimited; you just need to sign a waiver to receive a white plastic wristband. For those who have never surfed before, this is a must-try activity. In Hangzhou, indoor surfing with one-on-one instruction costs 198 RMB. Photo 2 was taken on the first day—it's recommended to head straight to the surfing area upon boarding, as the queues are shorter, allowing you to play multiple times and receive better guidance from the instructors. On the first and second days, the wait time was about 20 minutes, but by the fourth day, it increased to at least an hour. We wanted to try rock climbing, but it was temporarily closed due to strong winds, so we only managed to take an empty shot. Later, the queues for rock climbing were also quite long. The climbing wall is about 6-8 meters high and is more suitable for those with a sports background. Go-karting and archery both require long waits. They open at 7:00 AM, but people start queuing as early as 6:30 AM. There are plenty of ping-pong tables, which are great for older adults and kids, and they provide a good opportunity to bond with fellow passengers. Photo 5 shows the live-action CS game, which is a paid reservation activity, mostly attended by families with children. We watched from upstairs. The multi-purpose sports hall hosts various activities, including basketball, soccer, and live-action CS. At night, it transforms into a go-kart track. While there are many activities, the space is limited. Skydiving is a must-book activity! It’s incredibly fun and costs $50 per person. We went on the fourth day and only managed to play twice; the number of times you can participate may depend on reservation density. Each session lasts 1 minute, with 10 people per batch taking turns. When selecting photos, three photos cost $35, and they are printed on the same day, accompanied by an album and a keychain. We couldn’t book the Silk Road at Sea activity, and the venue was quite crowded. Dance party-style events are highly interactive and worth attending. If you want to try your luck at gambling, remember to bring US dollars or a Visa card onboard.
