The Upper House calls itself a residence, not a hotel. Because its comfort level is comparable to that of a home, I would describe it as a high-end private apartment. The room rates at The Upper House are not cheap, with the entry price being over $3,500 a night, but the price is proportional to the quality. This staycation lasted less than 24 hours and I still felt very satisfied. I will definitely visit upper house again next time! The entire design of The Upper House creates a feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle, making people feel calm and relaxed, and truly recharging their body, mind and soul. The designer uses calm wood color as the main tone, with soft tones, warmth and elegance, creating an elegant and quiet temperament for the Upper House. It is worth mentioning that there is no door closing button in the elevator. The designer wants the guests to slow down their busy pace of life and enjoy a leisurely life here. Even the service at The Upper House is of five-star quality and deserves praise. The special thing about The Upper House is that there is no hotel lobby. Instead, the staff directly lead us to the room to go through the check-in procedures. The staff was friendly and polite, and took us on a room tour, introducing the unique features of the room. As it is a celebration of the anniversary, The Upper House thoughtfully prepared a handwritten greeting card, with a warm feeling between the lines. In addition, The Upper House also gave us two desserts, which was a pleasant surprise! In addition to the welcome sweet plate, the hotel staff also emailed us to ask if we had any favorite desserts and specially prepared Tiramisu for us. Such hospitality is truly precious. We booked Studio 80, which is 80 square meters (850 feet). The basic room types at The Upper House are at least 70 square metres, and such a huge “woodshed” is rare in Hong Kong. I originally wanted to stay in Studio 70, which is cheaper and has a sea view of Victoria Harbour. However, the hotel was fully booked on Friday, so I had to stay at a more expensive price. Studio 80 has good lighting, and the large L-shaped windows allow guests to enjoy the city, mountain and Victoria Harbour views, which are unparalleled. What makes The Upper House different from other hotels is the open-plan bathroom, which is designed to give a sense of space. Double washbasins are basic equipment in five-star hotels. The huge limestone bathtub is fascinating. You can enjoy the colorful city view while bathing, which is simply a great enjoyment in life. There is also a spacious shower area behind the bathtub, which features an overhead shower. There are also sandstone sculptures in the bathroom, which are the finishing touch and there is no sense of incongruity. In addition, the toilet area is separated from the bathroom area. I guess it was designed with reference to the three-separation design of Japanese bathrooms, which separates dry and wet areas, so there is no need to worry about "fighting for the toilet". Interestingly, there is paper and pen next to the toilet, so that everyone can write down the inspiration when it strikes. This is the first time I have seen such a big bathroom in my life, it is amazing! The room facilities also demonstrate the attentiveness of The Upper House. The 42-inch TV has movie channels for guests to while away the time. You can also call the housekeeping department and they can provide free popcorn. The mini bars in other hotels have become maxi bars in The Upper House. You can choose from free beer, soda, scented tea and snacks, so you don’t have to worry about being hungry at night. As for toiletries, The Upper House also gives away a free travel cosmetic bag containing bath products from Bamford, a top British skincare brand. The Upper House is simply perfect in terms of environment and service. Every detail is well thought out and there is nothing I can complain about. If there is one area that can be improved it must be the food service. Such a large hotel only has one western restaurant, Salisterra, and a beverage shop, Matchali. The tastes are not popular enough and the prices are high. Fortunately, The Upper House is conveniently located, with Pacific Place just downstairs.
