Ob Luang, Chiang Mai Province

Ob Luang is located in Ob Luang National Park. It is a narrow canyon with cliffs along the river, creating a deep valley. The depth of the cliff from the Ob Luang Bridge to the normal water level is approximately 32 meters, and the narrowest is 2 meters. The length of the canyon is approximately 300 meters. The word "Ob" or "Ob" is a local word meaning narrow. "Luang" means big. Ob Luang is therefore the specific name used to call the giant narrow rock channel through which the Mae Jam River squeezes through. At Ob Luang, this canyon has steep and very narrow cliffs that squeeze the water flow. Therefore, the river here is very fast. The sound of water hitting the cliff is deafening. But around the water's edge to the north is beautiful with large and small trees, shady all the time. There is also a bridge connecting the Khao Khat Pass for tourists to stand and admire the beautiful scenery of Ob Luang. In addition, within the park, there are also excavations of prehistoric archaeological sites.
