The Bow River is a river in Alberta, Canada. It is a tributary of the South Saskatchewan River and is considered the source of the Nelson River. There are many reeds growing on both sides of the Bow River. These reeds are used by local Indians and other indigenous people to make bows, so it is named Bow River.
