Inuyama Castle is a Yamajiro-style Japanese castle located in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The castle overlooks the Kiso River, which serves as the border between Aichi and Gifu Prefectures. Inuyama Castle's Tenshu, one of the 12 remaining pre-modern Tenshu, is one of only five castles in Japan that have been designated as national treasures: Inuyama Castle (commonly known as Hakutei Castle), Matsumoto Castle, Himeji Castle, Hikone Castle, and Matsue Castle. It is said to have been built by Oda Nobuyasu, Oda Nobunaga's uncle, in 1537 during the Muromachi period, and the view from the top floor of the castle tower is magnificent.
