An island with more cows than people. Kuroshima. Kuroshima is a place of idyllic scenery. Population 235. Number of cows 2739. Cows make up the overwhelming majority of the population. Indeed, cows, cows, cows, and the occasional cat. I didn't encounter many people. Relaxing at Iconoma Cafe on Kuroshima. Take a ferry from Ishigaki Island to Kuroshima. Cafe tour on the hotel's rental bicycle. Here, we had Arthur toast and curry with coconut. The cafe is set up in the garden of the owner's home, and is on a slight hill, so you can see the cows grazing nearby. Birds chirp, cats come to play, and they even have a water buffalo at the cafe - it's irresistible for animal lovers!!
