This area brims with Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman history. Top sights include Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern. It’s recommended to book tickets online in advance, particularly for the Basilica Cistern. After a day of exploring museums and mosques, head to the Grand Bazaar for some haggling and souvenir hunting. 3️⃣ Balat and Fener Two of Istanbul’s most atmospheric and culturally rich neighborhoods, Balat and Fener were once home to the Greek Orthodox and Jewish communities. Wander through colorful streets filled with religious landmarks and historic architecture. Don’t miss the row of houses on Kiremit Street before having a coffee or meal in one of the many trendy cafés and restaurants. 4️⃣ Bosphorus Cruise No trip to Istanbul is complete without a Bosphorus Cruise.
