Peaks for Days

#summervacay Jinan’s Gubongsan is one of those spots that kinda sneaks up on you with how awesome it is. I wasn’t expecting much, just figured I’d check out another random mountain, but dang, this place was cool. The name literally means “nine peaks,” and yep, you get hit with a bunch of those sharp, rocky ridges that look straight out of an old painting. The trail is pretty friendly, nothing too hardcore, and the views come in fast. Like, you don’t have to wait hours to get that “wow” moment. The higher you go, the more those funky-shaped peaks pop out around you. It’s super photogenic, especially when the light hits just right. Also, not super crowded! I had stretches of the trail all to myself, just walking and soaking up the mountain vibes. You can even spot Maisan off in the distance if the weather’s clear. If you’re down for a scenic, laid-back hike with some seriously artsy views, Gubongsan’s a hidden gem worth the detour.
