The scenic area has large parking lots (about 10 RMB/hour, prices may increase during peak season). Introduction: Songhua Lake is a massive artificial lake 🏞️ formed by the Fengman Hydropower Station dam on the Songhua River. With vast waters and a long, narrow shape winding through mountains, it's beautiful year-round: spring blossoms🌸, summer lake breezes☀️, autumn foliage🍁, and winter skiing🎿. The winter season features the Vanke Songhua Lake Resort with excellent ski slopes. Travel Tips: Winter (late November to March): Skiing is the main attraction 🎿! At Vanke Songhua Lake Resort, the A Cable (Marshal Cable) leads to the mountain-top viewing platform (great for rime ice viewing), suitable for beginners/intermediates. The B Cable (General Cable) accesses higher slopes for intermediate/advanced skiers. The magic carpet area near the base is perfect for beginners. Mid-mountain slopes A2-A7 are ideal for skill-building. Note cable car operating hours to avoid missing the last ride. Summer/Autumn (May to October): Boat tours are classic 🚤. Budget options: Jilin city hotels are cheaper but require ~1 hour commute to the resort. Nearby Attractions: 🎿 Beidahu Ski Resort: About 1 hour from Songhua Lake (winter), with more professional slopes and serious skiing atmosphere. ❄️ Wusong Island (Hantun/Zengtong): 1 hour from Jilin city (depart 5-6am). Perfect for winter rime ice viewing (requires specific cold/humid conditions - luck needed).
