Kanagawa Prefecture, Ofuna Kannonji Temple

Ofuna Kannon, standing on the summit of Mugaso-yama just west of Ofuna Station, is a 25m tall, reinforced concrete statue of the upper body of the Bodhisattva Kannon, completed in 1960. A 1/20th scale statue of the Bodhisattva Kannon is enshrined inside the statue. Address: 1-5-3 Okamoto, Kamakura, Kanagawa 247-0072 Access: (1) Exit the south ticket gate of Ofuna Station, turn right, walk for 5 minutes from the west exit, cross the traffic light, and behind Lawson, you will see the approach to the temple on the left.
