The tower is designed to take advantage of the therapeutic properties of salt water, which is beneficial to respiratory health. It is a building that can release tiny salt mist. It is the largest building of its kind in southern Poland, covering an area of 7,500 square meters. Visitors can walk inside the tower and breathe the mineral-rich air while looking down at the surrounding scenery, such as King's Park and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The salt mine used to have a train track for transporting salt, which is now open to visit at will.
