#malaysiatrip Really great food and friendly service, but two problems. One can be solved by training and one is a longer-term fix. Service during the meal was impeccable. After the meal, the female bartender came to our table with a bottle of Malaysian whiskey and two glasses with ice. She offered us a pour and the way she talked to us, it sounded complimentary. We were done eating and drinking and did not order anything else. We tried a sip of it and didn't like it. I was surprised when the bill came to see an 80 MYR charge for the whiskey and told the waiter that. The waiter chuckled nervously, but didn't call the manager over or offer to address the issue. In retrospect, I wish I asked for the manager and had them remove the charge from the bill. The second feedback is that the restaurant needs its own bathroom so Beta can control the cleanliness. You currently have to leave the building and go across to the adjacent building, which has a very hot and dirty bathroom. There was no toilet paper, a window was open which meant rain had soaked the stall, and the urinals were out of order. Beta is a Michelin-starred restaurant and should have a bathroom commensurate with the dining room quality and design. Our total bill was 2,100 MYR ($450 USD).
