A hidden gem?! Kenninji Temple, Kyoto

#Kyoto #Kenninji Kenninji is known as the head temple of the Rinzai sect. It is also known for the Wind God and Thunder God Screen that is currently on display, but I personally think it is a hidden gem. Kenninji is located a little off Shijo Street, where Yasaka Shrine is located, and you can walk to Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, but it is surprisingly quiet and the roads are easy to walk on. The temple also has a green garden that you can visit for free. I personally think it's a good idea to visit Kenninji before visiting Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
