Calatrava’s Masterpiece in Liege

The Liège-Guillemins Railway Station, located in Liège, Belgium, is an architectural marvel designed by Santiago Calatrava. The station was designed in 1996 and it is constructed of steel, glass, and white concrete, with a dome that is 200 meters wide and 35 meters high. The station has nine tracks and five platforms. The station is one of the main railway hubs in Belgium, serving as a crucial junction for domestic and international travel. It is part of the high-speed rail network, providing connectivity to Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The ground floor of the station houses retail spaces, a restaurant, ticket booths, and waiting areas.
