British Library

The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the largest libraries in the world. Its collections number more than 170 million items in more than 400 languages, including books, magazines, manuscripts, maps, sheet music, newspapers, patents, databases, stamps, prints, drawings and sound archives. The British Library is a treasure trove. Visitors to the library at St Pancras might notice the building’s ocean liner silhouette (an idea inspired by architect Colin St John Wilson), but they may not know that the vessel currently holds an estimated 170 million treasures.
