#summerdestinations This summer, I took a delightful city break in Lublin, Poland, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Lublin is a city full of history, charm, and a relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for a quick getaway. The Old Town is the heart of the city, with its cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and the majestic Kraków Gate, which welcomes you into this historic area. One of the first places I visited was Lublin Castle, and for just 20 PLN, I got to explore the museum inside and climb the tower for a breathtaking view of the city. The castle’s history is fascinating, and the nearby Holy Trinity Chapel, with its stunning frescoes, is an absolute must-see. After that, I strolled through the Old Town, stopping at the Market Square where I found some charming cafes and tried some delicious local pierogi. The city is also home to some incredible street art and a vibrant cultural scene. I checked out the Lublin Open Air Village Museum just outside the city, which gave me a glimpse into traditional Polish life. The entrance fee was 15 PLN, and it was worth every penny. Walking through the peaceful village was like stepping back in time. In the evenings, Lublin’s Old Town comes alive with music and laughter, as locals and tourists alike enjoy the many restaurants and bars. It’s a city that blends the old and the new so effortlessly.
