[Macau] 8 World Heritage Sites to Visit in the Historic District

Macau, a special administrative region of China, has a part of its cityscape registered as a World Heritage Site as the "Historic District of Macau", which includes eight squares and 22 historical buildings. This time, I'll introduce eight of them. Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral Ruins of St. Paul's is a symbolic place that you can't miss when visiting Macau, and is always crowded with tourists. Although all parts of the building except the front facade have been burned and destroyed in three fires, the facade is still magnificent. Impressive❗⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡ 📍〖Monte Fortress〗⁡⁡ A military fortress on a hilltop, it is a wonderful place where you can see the cityscape of Macau and the Ruins of St. Paul's 😊 The many cannons that tell the story of the time are now a popular spot to take photos of the Lisboa Hotel✋⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ 　⁡　⁡ ⁡ 📍〖Senado Square〗⁡⁡ A cute square with a European atmosphere, with a fountain and colorful buildings lined up❣️The mosaic stone pavement with a wavy pattern is impressive✨⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ 📍〖A-Ma Temple (Ma Ko Miu)〗⁡⁡ The oldest Chinese temple in Macau, built in 1488. ⁡⁡ This place is said to be the first Portuguese colony at Cape Bara, and the Cantonese pronunciation of the building's name "Ma Gao" is said to be the origin of the name Macau. ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡ 📍〖St. Lawrence's Church〗⁡⁡ It used to be located on the waterfront of Nanwan overlooking the sea, and the families of Portuguese sailors would gather on the steps of this church to pray and wait for their return. At the time, relatively wealthy people lived near the church, so the building was designed to be grand and luxurious. ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ 📍〖Dom Pedro V Theater〗⁡⁡ The green exterior is cute! Built by Portuguese residents, it is the first Western-style theater in Asia and hosts Fado concerts. ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ 📍〖Cathedral〗⁡⁡ The cathedral, built in front of the Cathedral Square, was built as the Archdiocese of Asia. ⁡⁡ The Cathedral Square is surrounded by buildings and roads, and the area feels like a square and church in a European alley. ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ ⁡⁡ 📍〖Na Tcha Temple & Old City Wall〗⁡⁡ A small Chinese-style temple next to the Ruins of St. Paul's, dedicated to Na Tcha, a mythical figure and god of martial arts and disease prevention.
