It used to be the center of Macau's military defense facilities and is now part of the Historic Center of Macau. The top floor is now a garden, overlooking a 360-degree view of Macau. The fort is located on Persimmon Mountain in the center of the Macau Peninsula and was originally used for military purposes. The center of the current Fortress is the Macao Museum built in 1998, while the top floor of the Fortress Castle is the Fortress Garden.
