While planning my Macau trip, I learned that the Guia Lighthouse (also known as Monte Lighthouse) is one of Macau's UNESCO World Heritage sites and a landmark attraction. Therefore, we specifically set aside time to visit the lighthouse during our Macau trip. The lighthouse sits atop Guia Hill (Monte Fortress), offering a panoramic view of the Macau Peninsula. On the day of our visit, the weather was sunny with clear blue skies, providing excellent visibility. 🏠Address: Top of Guia Hill, Macau ⏰Opening Hours: 1. Lighthouse Interior: Generally closed to the public (may open on special occasions like World Metrology Day on May 20). 2. Surrounding Viewing Platform: Open 24 hours 🎫Admission: Free 🚗How to Get There: 1. On foot: 20-30 minutes walk from Macau city center (such as Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro or Ruins of St. Paul's), either via the Guia Hill walking trail or take the cable car from Flora Garden. From Flora Garden, take the cable car (costs just a few MOP) and then walk about 10 minutes to reach the lighthouse. 2. By Bus: Take a bus to "Flora Garden" or "Tap Seac Sports Complex" station, then walk uphill. 🌟Highlights: 1. Built in 1865, Guia Lighthouse is the oldest modern lighthouse along China's coast, featuring a white tower with yellow trim - perfect for photos. 2. Chapel of Our Lady of Guia: A small chapel next to the lighthouse with precious murals inside (photography prohibited), blending Chinese and Western cultural elements. 3. Viewing Platform: 360° panoramic views of the Macau Peninsula, Macau Tower, and Zhuhai Hengqin, especially stunning at night. 4. Air-raid Shelters and Military Relics: WWII-era air-raid shelters and fort remains on Guia Hill are worth visiting. 📝Tips: 1. Walking and climbing required - wear comfortable shoes; bring sun protection and mosquito repellent in summer. 2. Avoid noon hours when strong sunlight makes photography difficult. 3. Don't attempt to enter the lighthouse as it's usually closed to the public. 4. Respect the religious site - maintain silence in the chapel. 5.
