Holy House of Mercy

The Holy House of Mercy is located in front of the Senate Chamber. It is a brick and stone building that was constructed in the mid-18th century and took on its current appearance in 1905. It has a neoclassical architectural style. It was founded in 1569 by Macau’s first bishop, Gianni Luis, and was responsible for charity and relief work, hence the name “Hall of Mercy”.
