Watch Shoji Hamada's collection of ancient and modern East and West

#springwander An art museum that utilises part of Shoji Hamada's own residence, which spread Mashiko ware at home and abroad, and is open to the public. The large garden is dotted with 5 buildings, including Otani stone warehouses, thatched-roofed houses, and climbing kilns, and you can enjoy different atmospheres and exhibitions in each. Shoji Hamada moved to Mashiko, worked as a potter himself, and was also a holder of an intangible cultural property (human national treasure). As a central figure in promoting the folk art movement, he worked with Yanagi Soetsu and others and supported the movement from both material and mental aspects.
