Miyako... A small seaside town warmer than you might expect.

If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful Japanese town by the sea with its own unique charm, without the crowds... Miyako is one of those places. This trip took us away from the hustle and bustle of big cities to the salty air of the Pacific Ocean in Miyako, a small coastal town in Iwate Prefecture. It's a place filled with warm-hearted locals and surprisingly delicious food. 🍜 First thing you must try is the "local ramen." There's a famous ramen shop here that's been open for decades. The clear, aromatic broth is perfectly balanced, the noodles are chewy and tender, and the surprise twist? It's served with fresh seafood! This is a perfect blend of Japanese ramen and ocean flavors. 🌊 Next, we strolled along the seaside. The sky was clear, the breeze was refreshingly strong, and there was even a spot to feed seagulls flying over the water. It felt like being in a nature documentary. 🍦 Before heading back, we stopped for "soft serve ice cream" made from local Hokkaido milk from the Tohoku region. Sweet and creamy without being overly rich, enjoying it with a view of the sea was a 10/10 experience. 💬 Miyako may not be a famous tourist destination, but it’s a town that makes you realize "happiness doesn’t always need to be rushed."
