Visiting Munich felt like stepping into a city where centuries of history meet cutting-edge innovation. I started my day in the heart of the old town at Marienplatz, where the New Town Hall’s famous Glockenspiel delighted the crowd with its animated figures and chiming bells. Just a short walk away, I visited the majestic Frauenkirche with its twin towers rising above the skyline, and then continued to the vibrant Viktualienmarkt — perfect for a local snack and people-watching. The Residenz, Munich’s former royal palace, left a lasting impression with its lavish rooms and rich decor. I also wandered through the English Garden, where I stumbled upon river surfers riding the Eisbach wave — such a unique sight in a city park. In the afternoon, I shifted gears and headed to BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. After exploring so much Bavarian history, it was exciting to see Germany’s technological side. The sleek design of the BMW complex, interactive exhibits, and a timeline of iconic vehicles added a modern contrast to the rest of my day.
