"Mulayit" or Mulayit Taung is the highest peak of the Karen Buddhist Self-Administration Area DKBA in Myawaddy District, Myanmar, which is about 40 kilometers from the Thai border, Phop Phra District, Tak Province. On top of Mulayit Peak is the place where the hair of the Lord Buddha is enshrined. This is the destination for both Burmese and Thai pilgrims. You must take a 4WD car to get here. It takes about 4-5 hours throughout the distance. You will encounter a very winding road and a lot of dust. You have to wear a full set of clothes. When you arrive at the pagoda, you have to walk for another kilometer. The road may not be very good, but it is definitely worth it. *** There are quite strict rules here!!!
