Kudaka Island is so peaceful that it doesn't even have a business hotel. There are several accommodations on the island, but the largest and most impressive is the "Kudaka Island Accommodation Exchange Center"😊 Reservations can only be made through the official website. But it's nice that you can complete your reservation online◎ Prices vary depending on the first and second floor, the number of guests, and the off-season and busy seasons, so we recommend checking in advance and making your reservation as early as possible🖐️ This time, it was a weekend in September and the price was 5,100 yen for one person in a room on the second floor. Add to that the 100 yen towel set and 1,000 yen 24-hour bicycle rental, and the total was 6,200 yen! (Payment on site, cash only) ◎Location There is only one village on the island. It is located on the edge of the village (northeast side), but the village is mostly flat and you can reach it from the port in about 15 minutes on foot. After checking out, if the timing is right, the hostel staff will even take you to the port☝️ ◎Facilities Check-in starts at 2pm. This time, I arrived quite early at 10am, but they said my room was ready and I was able to go in🙌 The fridge, sink, toilet, and shower are all shared here. However, it is generally clean, and a kettle and hair dryer are also provided. The hot water shower has set times, so be sure to check in advance🚿 Other facilities include the island's historical museum (free, no photography allowed inside) and a rooftop terrace with a 360-degree view of the island, making it a cheap but well-equipped facility✨ ◎Room It's a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, and the second floor is more spacious. There's no TV, but it has air conditioning and a fan. They said to me, "Please use the air conditioning as much as you like," which is very much appreciated in hot Okinawa🎐 Because it's an island, some insects are unavoidable. Please be careful, especially at night, as insects will come if the room is bright. (There are no curtains, only sliding doors.) ◎Breakfast Previously, breakfast was served in the shared space on the first floor, but now it is only available for overnight stays. Please prepare your own breakfast. The accommodation is somewhat like a training camp. It was a good place to spend the night, feeling like you were back in the old days, and enjoying the atmosphere of a quiet island where day-trippers had left.
