Miyama Kayabuki (Kyoto), a World Heritage Site in Japan🇯🇵

Miyama Kayabuki no Sato is a small local farming village in the countryside of Miyama City, Kyoto. The houses are characterized by high roofs and thatched roofs made of kaya grass, which is called Kayabuki. There are 50 houses, and 38 of them still retain their original structures built almost 200 years ago. The people of Kyoto call this style of house the Kitayama Style Farmhouse. In front of the village is a field of white soba flowers in full bloom, with the Kayabuki houses as a beautiful backdrop. There are also seasonal flowers that bloom beautifully throughout the year. When you enter the entrance of the village, you will see a red mailbox as a prominent symbol. The village path is about 5 meters wide with a manhole cover with a pair of fish pattern in the middle of the road. The Yura River, which flows down from the valley and curves in front of the village, is a popular place for camping in the summer.
