First Impressions of Egypt: Cairo and Hurghada

Day 1: After a long 12-hour flight, we finally arrived in Cairo. Without rest, we immediately started our Cairo itinerary. Our first stop was the museum. The collection was extensive, and the museum was crowded. Two hours was too rushed; we only had time to see some representative collections. At noon, under the scorching sun, we arrived at the famous Giza pyramid complex. The endless yellow sand hides countless unknown stories. Day 2: After a night of rest, we set off for Hurghada. The six-hour drive felt like an eternity. I strongly recommend that independent travelers choose to fly. The tour guide kept promoting optional paid activities along the way, and we decided to participate in some, after all, the driver and tour guide worked very hard. After arriving, we quickly changed into our swimsuits and went on a glass-bottom boat. The Red Sea is a deep blue, different from the jelly-like sea of Semporna. The variety of marine life is also very limited. We often encountered jellyfish while snorkeling, but fortunately, they were not poisonous. The crew enthusiastically made me a very Egyptian hat and scarf out of a towel. The glass-bottom boat experience was quite good overall.
