Details
Mitake Mountain Railway (Cable Car) Opened in 1934, this cable car runs up Mt. Mitake in Ome, Tokyo, and travels between Takimoto Station and Mitakesan Station. The red one in front is the Mitake-go and the green one is the Musashi-go. It's a 45-minute walk from Mitake Station. You can get close by car or bus, but depending on the season, day of the week, and time of day, you may have to line up to park in a nearby parking lot or to ride the cable car. Musashi Mitake Shrine A hiking spot that can be easily reached from the city center on a day trip, this shrine enshrines many gods, including the main hall and worship hall, on the grounds of the summit of Mt. Mitake (929m above sea level). It is a 30-minute walk from Mt. Mitake Station.
