Mirror-like surfaces and futuristic architecture: A world where reality and virtuality intersect in null² 🪞.

【Osaka-Kansai Expo (2025)】 Signature Pavilion "null² (Null Null)" 📝 Overview null² (pronounced Null Null, null2) is the signature pavilion located at the heart of the Osaka-Kansai Expo held in 2025 on Yumeshima, Osaka. The pavilion embodies the theme "Refining Life." Produced by media artist Yoichi Ochiai, the pavilion showcases the concept of "Digital Nature" (computational nature) through its architectural design. --- Architectural and Performance Features The exterior features a cubic structure composed of mirror-like membranes (voxel clusters). These mirrors dynamically respond to wind and sound, organically reflecting visitors and the surrounding scenery. Equipped with interactive mechanisms such as robotic arms and acoustic vibrations, the pavilion is described as "living architecture" due to its dynamic transformations. --- Exhibition Experience Visitors can use a smartphone app to perform 3D scans of themselves, generating and projecting digital avatars (MirroredBody®). These avatars can interact with CG visuals and AI. Inside, the pavilion offers a theater-like experience surrounded by 360-degree LED screens and mirrors, immersing visitors in a surreal space of reflections and visuals.
