Wat Pa Phu Hai Long

Wat Pa Phu Hai Long Temple Very high hilltop temple with incredible 360 degree views above the surrounding jungle. We took a long road trip along winding, bumpy country roads and steep tracks to get to the temple carpark. Once at the carpark, we unloaded a few food and drink items and climbed the first long set of concrete steps up to the restaurant and toilet level. A quick rest here with a meal, then the next main climb up to the temple complex itself perched at the top. The last long flights of steps were beautifully decorated in mosaic tiles depicting long, wavy tailed dragons with their heads at the beginning of the stairs! The temple itself is divided into many sections all with their own deities to give offerings to. Then a final walk around the topmost main temple to give more offerings of gold leaf and a final bang of a large ceremonial gong. The walk back down was considerably easier! A very beautiful, peaceful and respectful place to visit.
