There is a place that makes people want to slow down at the edge of Magong Port in Penghu. This is Duxing Ten Village, one of the oldest military dependents' villages in Taiwan, and a cultural settlement full of stories. 🏠 From military base to cultural and creative base, the past and present of Duxing Ten Village Duxing Ten Village was built during the Japanese occupation period. It was originally a dormitory for the Japanese Navy and became a military dependents' quarters after the war. It was born earlier than Sisi Nan Village in Taipei and Guangfu New Village in Taichung, and is one of the earliest military dependents' villages established in Taiwan. In the past, many air force families lived here. Today, the old houses still retain their original appearance, with mottled tiles and creaking wooden doors. Time seems to flow through the cracks in the wall, leaving footprints quietly. After restoration and reuse, the village has gradually transformed into a cultural and creative park, with art and cultural exhibition spaces, small coffee shops, and handmade shops, which not only retain the old flavor but also inject new energy. 🎶 The hometown of two music superstars gives melody to memories If you have heard "My Future Is Not a Dream" and "Grandma's Penghu Bay", then you must come here for a visit. Because these two representative musicians, Zhang Yusheng and Pan Anbang, are both children of Duxing Village. There are two former residences in the village, which are now converted into memorial halls, showing their life photos, records, manuscripts and performance clips. In particular, Zhang Yusheng's room still retains his desk and window view from his youth, making people seem to see him sitting in front of the window humming.
