Sam Phan Bok means a groove or condition of rocks that are holes or basins with three thousand holes. The way down to Sam Phan Bok requires a car and there will be a local guide to advise. The tacks here have different shapes and appearances, but the highlight is the heart-shaped tacks and the Mickey Mouse tacks. The size of the tacks compared to the size of a person is considered very large. Sam Phan Bok is a rocky rapids or kumpha lak located under the Mekong River in Pho Sai District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. It was formed by the force of the whirlpools, which eroded into more than 3,000 pools. They appear during the dry season when the water level dries up. These rapids will emerge from the water like a mountain in the middle of the Mekong River, so the locals call it the Mekong Grand Canyon. This phenomenon occurs from around October to May, after which the rapids will flood and submerge the rapids. #UbonRatchathani
