The reason it was not burned down was because the area in front of the temple was chosen as a strategic location for the royal army of the Inwa Kingdom. When the Burmese won the war, the King of Inwa ordered this temple to be spared. 🎈The early Ayutthaya architecture of the ordination hall enshrines Phra Phutthanimit Wichitmaromoli Si Sanphet Borommatrailokanat, the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall, built at the end of the Ayutthaya period. It is a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, cast from bronze, dressed in royal attire.
