This temple was built by Somdet Phra Naresuan the Great for Mae Pluem after she passed away and named it Wat Mae Nang Plueum. The main pagoda of Wat Mae Nang Plueum is a large Sri Lankan-style pagoda on a square base. On the base are 36 stucco lions. There are only two pagodas surrounded by lion bases in Ayutthaya: Wat Mae Nang Plueum and Wat Thammarat, which we just visited. 🎈Luang Por Khao Shrine, inside is enshrined Phra Phutthanimit Mongkhon Srirattanatrai, a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude.
