Pingtan Sunrise Pursuit: Witnessing the First Rays of Dawn by the Sea

As the New Year's bell chimed, my family and I embarked on a self-driving tour from Hangzhou, passing through Linhai, Xiapu, and Fuzhou, finally arriving in Pingtan and Quanzhou. Along the way, we traveled between mountains and seas, experiencing the unique New Year atmosphere of different cities. Each stop was like a unique painting, and the sunrise in Pingtan was the warmest chapter of this journey. Pingtan: Welcoming the Sunrise on the Island 🚗 Transportation: From Fuzhou to Pingtan, you can reach it via the Pingtan Strait Road-Rail Bridge. The whole journey takes about 1.5 hrs. Pay attention to the speed limit on the bridge. 🏠 Accommodation: To watch the sunrise, it is highly recommended to book a seaside homestay near Tannan Bay or Longwangtou Beach. Some homestays offer sea-view rooms, allowing you to watch the sunrise from your bed. However, prices may increase during the Lunar New Year period. Please check the cancellation and refund policy when booking. 🍜 Food: Pingtan is rich in seafood. Local specialties include Bazhen Fried Rice Cakes and Shi Lai Yun Zhuan (salty rice balls). You can buy fresh seafood at the Longwangtou Seafood Market and have it cooked at nearby restaurants for a reasonable processing fee. 🎈 Activities: The sunrise in Pingtan is breathtakingly beautiful. Tannan Bay and Longwangtou Beach are recommended viewing spots. Check the weather and sunrise time in advance, and bring a thick coat as it can be windy by the sea in the early morning. The scenery along the Pingtan Island Ring Road is fantastic. Beigang Village and Changjiang’ao Wind Farm are worth visiting. Children can play in the sand and splash in the waves on the beach. On this self-driving tour, we spent a colorful New Year in different cities. Every scenery, every sunrise and sunset, has become a precious memory in our hearts. The dreamlike sunrise in Pingtan added a warm and beautiful touch to this New Year.
