We happened to visit during Christmas, so if you're planning a trip around the holidays, definitely save this – you won't have to worry about everything being closed! 😉 TSS Earnslaw Steamship: A Must-Do! 🚢 As the only coal-fired passenger steamship still operating in the Southern Hemisphere, the TSS Earnslaw is absolutely worth experiencing! We chose the combination package that included the steamship cruise, a BBQ lunch, and a farm tour. This way, we not only got to enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Wakatipu from the boat but also had the chance to tour the ship's interior and see firsthand how the steam engine works.
