Located in a Manila-style wooden building built in the late reign of King Rama V, it has been renovated into an art exhibition space and a café that blends ancient architecture with contemporary style. What makes d Kunst stand out is the preservation of the original architectural structure, while maintaining the charm of the ancient wooden building and modifying the interior space to perfectly meet contemporary needs. d Kunst was founded by Wasinburi Suphanichvoraphan, the third-generation heir of the famous Tao Hong Tai pottery factory, to be a public art space where art will become part of the way of life of people in the Ratchaburi community. This concept combines contemporary with community participation, reflecting the belief that art should not be limited to large art galleries in big cities, but should be accessible to everyone. With its location near the historical area of ​​Ratchaburi National Museum, d Kunst has become a meeting point for art lovers and a place that inspires people in the community as well as tourists. Here, art becomes a bridge connecting the past, present and future through various activities and exhibitions. This February, d Kunst is hosting the INFINiJUD exhibition, which takes us on an exploration of the endless journey of art and community through the metal sculpture “Ai Jood”, which represents continuous learning, connecting people with art, and a meaningful homecoming. “Ai Jood” is a creation by Wasinburi Supanichvoraphan, which began in 2007 in the Coming Closer series. “Ai Jood” is a life-size sculpture of a Thai dog, representing the intelligence, loyalty, and love of home and community that are unique characteristics of local Thai dogs. “Ai Jood” was originally made from ceramics along with other elements such as a German castle, a dwarf, a Thai jar, and a Thai child, all of which are part of Thai street culture. In 2008, “Ai Jood” was brought back to be displayed in the exhibition "Siamese Smile" on the occasion of the opening of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, this time "Ai Jot" received widespread attention and became a symbol of curiosity and openness towards contemporary art in Thai society. In 2013, 4 pieces of "Ai Jot" were installed at the Ratchaburi National Museum to serve as a bridge connecting viewers with local history through contemporary art, making it easier for people in the community who may not be familiar with art to access and learn about it. The return of "Ai Jot" to Tao Hong Tai: d Kunst Art Space and Cafe this time is a symbol of the never-ending journey of both art and community development.
