[Rishiri Island, Hokkaido] The northernmost mountain, Mount Rishiri ⛰️

I climbed Mt. Rishiri, also known as Rishiri Fuji, which stands on Rishiri Island in Hokkaido! It is one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, located at the northernmost tip of the country, and has an altitude of 1,721m. I stayed the night before in a bungalow at the Rishiri Kitaroku Campground at the trailhead. I was a little worried about the weather, so I set off early in the morning at 3:30. From the trailhead, I first climbed to the 8th mountain, Nagakanyama. From the summit of Nagakanyama, I could see Mt. Rishiri for the first time. After climbing for 6 hours from the start, I was able to reach the summit safely, soaking up the spectacular views and alpine plants along the way. It was raining at the peak this time, so there was no view, but if it's sunny, you can see a breathtaking 360-degree panorama. Sometimes you can even see Rebun Island and Sakhalin. It was a great mountain where you can feel the harshness and beauty of nature at the same time.
