An icon of History

Rome’s 2000 year old Pantheon is one of the most interesting historical sites on the planet. Built as a Roman temple and converted into a Catholic Church after the fall of the empire, it still holds the record as the largest unsupported dome in the world despite its age. The site is also home to the tombs of the famous artist Raffael and the first king of a united Italy Victor Emmanuel II. Entrance is €5, but well worth it. #100waysoftravel
