The Caravanserai Town: My Favorite Town in Turkey 🪻 Safranbolu

Located in the central northern part of Turkey, Safranbolu gets its name from being a production area for saffron flowers 🪻. The reason this townscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is because the houses from the Ottoman Empire era, dating back to the 11th century, are still well-preserved. You can see with your own eyes the "caravanserais" often mentioned in world history. These were once used by travelers along the Silk Road stretching from China to Anatolia, and now they have been converted into hotels. It's quite charming that these facilities continue to serve as places for lodging across the ages ✨. Hıdırlık Hill is a breathtaking spot where you can view the entire town (as shown in the first photo). The reddish-brown roofs, white walls, and houses with large windows that seem to allow good ventilation are laid out like a miniature model, making it endlessly delightful to gaze at... 🏠♡ Shoemakers and blacksmiths have also passed down their crafts through generations, and as you stroll through the town, you'll come across many such shops. There are hardly any pushy vendors, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed and leisurely time. Long-distance buses are available from Istanbul, so be sure to visit this charming town ✨.
