【San Francisco, USA】Bay Cruise with Views of Bridges and Islands

The Golden Gate Bridge, a symbol of San Francisco, is a must-see from below! This dream can be fulfilled by taking a cruise around San Francisco Bay, offered by several companies. This time, I joined the "ESCAPE FROM THE ROCK" course by Blue & Gold Fleet, which also includes a tour around Alcatraz Island. The cruise lasts about 1.5 hours 🖐️. I made a same-day reservation for the evening departure, which is available only on Fridays and Saturdays. Note that booking the cruise alone costs around 7,000 yen. If you plan to visit other attractions, purchasing a GO CITYPASS and making reservations is more cost-effective and highly recommended 😉. After departure, the cruise first heads towards the Golden Gate Bridge while offering views of San Francisco 🌉. The bridge's grandeur when seen from below is truly breathtaking! The massive cargo ships passing by are also quite impressive 😲. After passing under the bridge and making a U-turn, the cruise returns towards the city and heads to Alcatraz Island. Despite being easily visible from San Francisco, this island was once home to a prison known for being impossible to escape from. It’s so famous that several movies have been based on it 🚨. Onboard, you can listen to historical accounts and recordings of actual inmates, which might be fascinating for those proficient in English. As for me, I spent most of my time on the deck taking photos 😅. The cruise concludes near the Ferry Building, offering distant views of the Bay Bridge before returning to the departure point. Since it was during sunset, I also enjoyed the elements of a sunset cruise 👍. This bay cruise is an efficient and perfectly timed way to experience San Francisco, especially recommended for first-time visitors ✨. By the way, the ship itself felt a bit old, but since I stayed on the deck the whole time, it didn’t bother me personally. Visit Date: December 2023
