Gravity Seoul Pangyo Autograph Collection Business Deluxe Room

This hotel operates under the Josun Hotels & Resorts management, similar to The Westin Josun Seoul, but carries the Autograph Collection brand, a premium hotel chain under the Marriott Group, like Westin. This setup is comparable to how Japan's Miyako Hotel Group or ANA Airlines collaborate with Marriott or InterContinental to run joint hotels. Thus, Autograph Collection hotels in Korea, such as The Plaza operated by Hanwha Group and Gravity by Shinsegae Group, are part of the Marriott Bonvoy network in their own unique way. For instance, in Japan, there is the Nagoya Marriott Associa operated by the Associa hotel group in the Tokai region, and the Osaka Marriott Miyako operated by the Miyako Hotel Group. I discovered this information while researching Japanese sites and Wikipedia, and found that Korea has similar cases. Yay! (They also lend Fujifilm Instax cameras for photos, and I even received a disposable instant camera as a reward for completing a mission.) I revisited Pangyo after a long time since my Starbucks Reserve tour last year, which included a visit to Avenue France Reserve. On this day, I also booked an afternoon tea at another Marriott-affiliated hotel in Pangyo. However, this hotel does not offer afternoon tea. The basic Business Deluxe Room is about 26 square meters, comparable to a superior room in a Japanese city hotel. The Premium Room is 38 square meters, with a price difference of 70,000 KRW. I opted for the basic room. The entrance is spacious. I was assigned the 11th floor in this 19-story hotel. Being a newly built hotel, the soundproofing was excellent. The view was non-existent due to surrounding high-rise buildings (view of the adjacent building). There was no bathtub (available from the Premium Room onwards). Instead, there was a separate shower room, and the sink and toilet were in separate areas. The room featured an open wardrobe, and amenities like toothbrushes and razors were not provided unless requested at check-in. The toiletries were the hotel's own brand and were also available for purchase. The bed was comfortable, though the sofa was not ideal for lounging. However, the long table was great for gatherings. Wine glasses, sparkling water, and bottled water were part of the standard setup. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows (with a note to keep the curtains closed as you could make eye contact with the Alpha Dome office across the way). The hotel building is relatively narrow, so the entrance and lobby are compact. The hotel staff were extremely friendly. The hotel has three dining options, two of which I visited. The first was ZEROVITY, a lounge café (bar) on the first floor. It serves brunch and meals during the day and transforms into a European-style bar at night. My booking included a 30,000 KRW credit for use here. Initially, I planned to use it for dinner and order some champagne, but I ended up arranging a casual drinking session in the hotel room with former colleagues from the Bundang area. However, there was a mix-up with the order, and I had to wait over 30 minutes. The staff were very apologetic and offered wine and nuts as a service while I waited. They remained courteous throughout. The pizza had a topping resembling pickled figs, and the dough was soft. It paired well with the champagne I had brought (picked up from Shinsegae Gyeonggi). The nuts were large, and the red wine was enjoyable in the evening. The next morning, I had breakfast at ANDISH on the second floor. This place is described as a casual version of Aria, the famous buffet at Josun Hotels. It was a weekday, so there weren’t many guests, but the food was thoughtfully prepared. The highlight of my morning was spotting two types of frankfurters that I had encountered over 200 times at Japanese hotel breakfasts. The food was well-seasoned and flavorful overall. However, the fruit quality was not great. The bakery items, as expected, were delicious. The hotel’s swimming pool is a highlight. I inquired about taking photos during check-in and was allowed to visit during cleaning time the next day to take some beautiful shots. I appreciated their accommodation. This hotel left an impression as a clean, modern, and stylishly designed space. It reminded me of Hamacho Hotel in Tokyo. Thank you.
